Welcome to Linc

Thinking outside of the box and growing our minds are our themes for LinC at Hidden Lake Elementary School.  LinC is a three hour pull out enrichment program for third through fifth grade students.  Students create, investigate, design, and produce high quality work through differentiated activities that make them think critically and creatively.

2nd grade students in Dothan City Schools are screened for the LinC program.  All incoming 3rd-5th grade students can be screened upon teacher and/or parent recommendation.

My name is Amanda Smith and I am the resource enrichment teacher here at Hidden Lake.  I have 19 years of teaching experience in Dothan City Schools.  Teaching 4th grade for 14 years at Montana Magnet allowed me to grow my knowledge of S.T.E.M standards.  S.T.E.M is our future and LinC at Hidden Lake will lead the way!

I will obtain my Gifted Specialists degree in December from Troy University.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Randy and together we stay busy shuttling our two active boys from soccer to piano to cross country to archery meets.  I love to run and am very active.  I believe in living life to the fullest in all things!
My goal is to inspire students to aspire to new heights and stretch their thinking styles.  Students have various learning styles, so delivery methods in LinC vary and are numerous.  We will have fun while engaging our inner Einsteins!

I look forward to watching our LinC program flourish at Hidden Lake.
